Silly Bandz, by Jayson

Playing with Sarah

Nah, I don’t want to play that.

Well, maybe that would be OK.

I’ll be a cat.

Oh please don’t copy me. It’s no fun to play like that.

Meow, meow, meow

(scratch)

(sluurrrppp)

Pppprrrrr

Please can I be the cat?

You be the frog. I was the cat first.

Good game!

How to Fix the Walkway by Christopher

Take off the tile.
Take off the plywood.
Put new blocks.
Put new doors.
Fix the stucco.
The mortar bed dries fast!
Put some sticky stuff on it.
Put new tile.
This is my new walkway.

Epilogue: Now we have our new walkway. It has new tiles and everything. We walk on it every day and it never falls down. It doesn't leak either.

Babies

Darling, dainty fingers
Delightful feet and toes,
Kicking and grabbing
Stretching and smiling at me.

Me and Holly

What do you know about me and my doll Holly? Well, we go shopping for Holly. She has two jumpers and three dresses. We also like to go to the library. Me and Holly like to read. The school subject we like most is writing and reading. And we do everything together.

When Valerie Was Born, revised

“I don’t want to go!” I argued, my voice squeaking. “I want to see my sister!”

We were at the hospital, standing behind the curtain. I was four and my brother Christopher was two.

Daddy said, “You have to go, but you can come back in a little while.”

“OK,” I said. Even though I felt unhappy, I ran with my friends so the time could go faster. I was eager to come back to the hospital.

Then Daddy came to pick me and my brother up. I was so enthusiastic that I sprung into Daddy's arms. When we got to Mommy's room, I was ruffled. I didn't know what to do. I looked at my baby sister so reverently. Then Mommy said, "Kayla, come on the bed and hold the baby." I slowly climbed up on to the bed and. . .
I held her. I felt so tender. I love my baby sister and she loves me.

Epilogue: Now I am six and Christopher is four. My baby sister Valerie is two.
