Ella the Easter Bunny

Hi. I'm Ella the Easter Bunny, but I'm too young to hide eggs. But I help make them! I design them. I make chocolate bunnies and weave baskets for kids. All the little bunnies have an egg hunt on Monday after Easter and then we get to work again. We work all year. Sometimes older bunnies take us to houses and we put little things on tables. And that is what I do.

Different Types of Fairies

What do you know about fairies? I will tell you about the different types of fairies I know.

Great Wandies are fairies with wands. They're our size and they live on the mainland. Their wands do everything. They have beautiful butterfly wings.

Never Fairies have pixie dust. They are six inches tall. They live in Pixie Hollow. They have talents and they have fairy wings.

The Tooth Fairy has a wand. I think she is four inches tall. She lives in Fairyland. She collects teeth and she has tiny wings.

Fairyland Fairies have wands. They are four inches. They live in Fairyland and they have talents and tiny wings.

I hope you have enjoyed this book about fairies.

Changing the World to a Better Place

Some times people make wrong choices and make laws or rules wrong and they treat people badly.

When Elizabeth Blackwell was a girl, people thought that girls could not do as much as boys could. She became a doctor. She pushed the rule and made it change.

Amelia Earhart was a little girl when people thought that girls should only be pretty. Amelia wanted to fly a plane. She flew over the Atlantic Ocean. She made the rule change.

There was a fence in the middle of a town. The black people lived on one side and the white people on the other side. There were two girls and they wanted to be friends. So they sat on the fence and talked. They helped the rule to change.

Harriet Tubman was a slave. She had no freedom. She ran to freedom. Then she came back and got 300 slaves to freedom.

There used to be a restaurant where Black people had to stand up to eat. So the Black people sat at the counter but they didn't eat. They changed the rule.

We can change the rule if it is bad and be brave.

Lemonade

Lemons are trials. Sugar and water are friendship and love. When we have trials we add sugar and water and it makes lemonade. Marilyn was a girl who got cancer. She was going to give up. Her hair fell out. She couldn't go to school. Then she felt love and friendship and she made lemonade. She got better and she had a great life.

Silly Poems, by Kayla

We have been reading poems by Shel Silverstein and E.E. Cummings. These are some of Kayla's attempts at experimentation with poetry.

If you poke your finger in your ear, by Christopher

Don’t poke your finger in your ear,

There is a hare that lives right there,

And if you poke your finger in,

It might stick your finger with a pin.
